Postdoctoral Research Associate Program

Each year the department appoints a one-year (with potential for second year re-appointment) Postdoctoral Research Associate.

The program is intended to support the development of a junior scholar in Egyptology, Assyriology or History of Ancient Sciences. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is expected to conduct their own research, teach one course per semester, and to participate in the academic life of the department.

Postdoctoral Research Associate in Egyptology and Assyriology 2026-28

The Department of Egyptology and Assyriology at Brown University seeks to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Associate and invites applications from early-career scholars who work in any of the areas covered by the department: Egyptology, Assyriology, and History of the Exact Sciences in Antiquity. The appointment will be for two years beginning on August 1, 2026.
